Limestone Brewing Company
Electric Park Golden Ale

5.64% ABV 36 IBUs OG 1.053
An easy-drinking golden-hued ale, this beer celebrates the Golden era of Plainfield in the 1920s - when Electric Park was the vacation amusement park of choice for many Chicagoans. Flaked corn and a generous dose of pure cane sugar make sure this beer is light and tasty. That sugary goodness is balanced with Amarillo hops. A great choice for beginner craft drinkers and seasoned veterans alike

The Wheatlander

4.7% AB 15 IBUs OG 1.044
This traditional German-style Hefeweizen is yellow-hued, unfiltered and cloudy with a big, rocky head, brewed with 60% wheat malt, 40% barley malt. The Munich yeast strain produces strong banana-like esters and clove aroma. This beer is mildly hopped with Tettnanger and Hallertauer hops to balance the malty sweetness. Although some may enjoy wedge of lemon with this beer, we think it is best on its own.

Old Chicago Amber

4.5% ABV 23 IBUs OG 1.064
This is a sweet, malty amber ale, unfiltered, lightly hopped with generous portions of caramel malt for a balance beer. With alcohol at 4.5%, this is a great session brew for those who appreciate the interesting flavors provided by the grains.

Indian Boundary Ale

5.5% ABV 65 IBUs OG 1.053
This is an India Brown Ale - a newer style classification created by the American craft brew revolution. Based loosely upon the traditional IPA, this brew is more American and a hybrid of a traditional brown ale and an American Pale Ale. Being highly hopped with Cascade and Centennial hops, gives it a floral aroma and finish. A hint of roastiness (found behind the hop-forward flavor) comes from a very slight addition of roasted barley (which makes it brown in color, too). Truly an “outside the boundaries” beer – something we plan to continue with.

Dolomite Oatmeal Stout

4.0% ABV 40 IBUs OG 1.044
A creamy Oatmeal Stout, as dark and rich as the dolomite-rich soil that has made Plainfield such a great place to grow crops. Healthy amounts of roasted barley, chocolate malt and oatmeal flakes combine to create a coffee-like roastiness, chocolate notes and a smooth creaminess. Served using 100% nitrogen, patiently watch the cascade of bubbles, then enjoy the thick, tan head. Great with a dollop of ice cream right in it!

Plow Match Pale Ale

5.91% ABV 65 IBUs OG 1.062
Formerly Pilcher Pale Ale, which we had to stop making because of a world-wide shortage of Amarillo hops, the dominant hop in Pilcher. This new and improved American Pale Ale is characterized by a healthy addition of Cascade hops. Smooth and malty through the middle and lots of floral Cascade hoppiness in the finish, this brew will pair well with spicy dishes and hearty, heavy sauces as well. Named after Plainfield's historic Plowing Match, held each fall from 1877 to 1976. This rite of the harvest season was first held on 119th Street, just east of Rt. 59, just a hop, skip and a jump from Limestone Brewing Company. Today, there is a marble marker at this site, commemorating the event.

Muddy Pig

Our very own version of a Black & Tan, we start out with our delicious Flying Pig, and float our Oatmeal Stout on top. This Muddy Pig brings together two of our most popular brews for one very unique taste, equaled by no other. A must have at Limestone!!!

Flying Pig Imperial IPA

8.67% ABV 110 IBUs OG 1.084
In a 1920 storm, a Plainfield farmer’s pig was found sleeping on the kitchen table, having been thrown from the pen. Like that powerful storm, this Imperial India Pale Ale is at the top of the scale with 110 IBUs and alcohol to match. Our mash tun nearly overflowed while mashing-in due to the amount of grain used to make it. Hoppy, warming, with some balancing residual malty sweetness make this a great after-dinner sipper.

Brew Monkey

9.06% ABV 23 IBUs OG 1.080
Ken has always joked around that he has felt like a monkey behind his brewery glass…so he put it into the name…not brewed by Abbey Monks, but brewed by monkeys! Golden in color, and brewed with 3 types of grain: Barley, Wheat, and Oat, which in turn gives it a nice creamy flavor, also Belgian Clear Candi Sugar and Abbey Ale Yeast.  Served in a snifter with a piece of Cranberry Stilton Cheese.

Ukrainium Krusher

Oak-aged Russian Imperial Stout

8.14% ABV 130 IBUs OG 1.102
A thick, dark brew with a persistent brown head. The aroma has hints of caramel and chocolate. It tastes of dark chocolate, with notes of vanilla. A velvety smooth mouth-feel and you are left with some alcohol-warming. At 9.84% ABV, this is a great after-dinner sipper. One of our seasonal brews, we were only able to make 5 barrels due to the amount of grain it took to get this to nearly 10% ABV. It has been aged for over 7 weeks, much of that on American Oak. Enjoy this one while it lasts. This style comes from 18th century Britain, where it was brewed for the Russian Czars, with a high alcohol level to keep it from freezing during transport over the frozen Baltic. Limited edition brew.

Frostbite

6.56 % ABV 15 IBUs OG 1.068
A spiced winter ale that can take away the chill! Specifically, a Brown Ale with 5 different barley malts, Naperville honey, spiced with fresh ginger, allspice, cinnamon, and both bitter and sweet orange peel. With 5.91% ABV, this brew is sure to warm you up on those cold winter nights.

Donndubhan

3.80% ABV 20 IBUs OG 1.042
Limestone’s very 1st Collaboration beer, brewed with Flossmoor Station, this English Dark Mild Ale is an easy drinking ale, with a sweet malty beginning, and smooth finish. A Celtic word meaning “little dark one”, this sessionable brew, is low in alcohol, but full of flavor.

Friends With Benefits - Not On Tap

5.64% ABV 30 IBUs OG 1.053
This is Limestone’s version of an Illinois Craft Brewers Guild project where 15 Illinois breweries brewed the same beer, an Americanized Belgian Style Pale Ale, using the same malt bill, brewer’s choice of hops and the same yeast strain. We chose to use only Summit Hops for this brew.

Springbrook Honey Heather Ale - Not On Tap

5.91% ABV 0 IBU's 1.060 OG
That's right, the IBU's are at ground zero. Dried heather tips and 200lbs of locally harvested honey, from a Naperville beekeeper.where used for this beer. Heather has been used for centuries as an herbal supplement to the body .This refreshing ale has a smooth, rich body with a slightly sweet, malty aroma and taste. It is a great session beer and is sure to please a variety of tastes!

Wisdom & Wit - Not On Tap

3.99% ABV 15 IBUs OG 1.049
A Belgian Style Wit Beer brewed with orange peel and coriander. A light and refreshing summer ale with a hint of fruit, spice, and floral characteristics. It was during a trip to Fulton, MO and the Winston Churchill National Museum that Brewmaster Ken found his inspiration for his latest brew. Sir Winston was a leader known for his strength, his words, his wisdom…and his wit. So Relax, Kick Back, and ENJOY!

6450 Red Ale - Not On Tap

4.4% ABV 33 IBUs OG 1.054
Brewed for the Plainfield Rotary Club, District 6450, this Red Ale is a sweet, malty American Red Ale. With strong caramel notes coming from the 4 different kinds of barley malt, and a subtle balance of Columbus and Simcoe hops. Pairs nicely with our Classic Angus Burger.  Limestone is also proud to donate $.50 of every 6450 sold to the Rotary Club to benefit local charities!

Professor Darnell's Berry Ale - Not On Tap

4.97% ABV 15 IBUs OG 1.051
In 1911, Professor Harry Darnell fell from his hot air balloon while performing his trapeze act over the DuPage River in Electric Park in Plainfield, IL. With no family claiming his body, Plainfield gave him a proper burial and his gravesite monument can still be seen today in the local cemetery. Limestone Brewing Company makes a proper Berry Ale to honor the Professor every summer. Last year it was a Raspberry Wheat Ale, this year, Brewmaster Ken has made a refreshing Blueberry Wheat. The blueberry notes in this summer wheat ale are evident in the nose as well as the finish of this beer. Great for those blazing hot summer days. Try it with our Spinach Salad or with any barbecue dishes.

The Nibulator - Not On Tap

6.83% ABV 20 IBUs OG 1.064
Limestone’s first lager is an unfiltered doppelbock, lagered for 2 months, with the last two weeks on Ghanaian cacao nibs. A smooth, unoffensive brew, it starts with bit of caramel sweetness and finishes with a smooth, light chocolatey creaminess imparted by the nibs. Not a hint of bitterness, this is an easy drinker that pairs well with most desserts, contrasts well with spicy foods and can easily stand on its own as a session brew.

Pilcher Pale Ale - Not On Tap

5.8% ABV 65 IBUs OG 1.065
The Pilcher family was a prominent family in the Will County area for years. They had a farm off of 135th st, which is also named Pilcher Rd. They were a generous family and gave back to their community. This beer is aptly named for them as a hoppy American Pale Ale with generous hops flavors featuring Amarillo hops. 4% of the 2-Row base malt was toasted in Limestone's ovens, giving a slightly biscuity character. Make no mistake, this beer is about the hops.

Halfway Small Stout - Not On Tap

2.7% ABV 30 IBUs OG: 1.034
A rare treat. This beer was made from the second-runnings of our Russian Imperial Stout, which is still aging on Oak and will be released May 18th. Extremely light-bodied and low in alcohol, small beers have been made for centuries. In colonial times, when water was unsafe to drink, small beers were made for morning and afternoon consumption. Unlike those watery, indistinct creations, this beer has distinct roastiness, light creaminess, a hint of caramel and is poured on nitrogen. If you’re looking for a beer with a huge kick, pass this one by. If you’re looking for something to pair with your bacon and eggs (or your business lunch), this is your brew! Limited edition brew – enjoy it while it lasts!

Maple Stout - Not On Tap

4.33% ABV 30 IBUs OG 1.050
A dry stout with a hint of maple syrup from a small Michigan grower, Cook’s Sugar Bush. This Ale goes great with smoked foods as well as sweet desserts. This stout will be sure to warm you up during the cold winter nights. Compare it to our sweeter Oatmeal Stout!
